Lamport Stadium - Toronto (outdoor turf)

Main Intersection:

1.From Markham/Scarborough, take Don Valley Parkway going South. Go into Gardiner Expressway West. Take Dunn Avenue Exit goring north. Follow Dunn Aveune to King Street. Take right turn at King Street. After passing a few blocks on King street past Dufferin, you will see Allan E. Lamport Stadium on your right. You will have to take a right turn on Fraser Avenue in order to go to Parking lot of Lamport Stadium.

2. If you are coming from the west, take the 427 or QEW and go on to the Gardiner Expressway East. Exit at Jameson Avenue going north. Follow Jameson Avenue to King Street. Take a right turn at King Street. After a few blocks you will pass Dufferin. Two blocks past Dufferin, turn right onto Fraser Avenue in order to go into the parking lot of Lamport Stadium.

There is a parking fee charged by the stadium.

  • by TTC #1 From Dufferin subway station, take the Dufferin 29 bus south. Make sure you have a transfer! The bus will make 2 turns along the way. Get off at King Street.
  • by TTC #2 You may also take the 504 King streetcar and get off at Dufferin Street.
  • after getting off the TTC...At the intersection of King and Dufferin there will be a Bank of Montreal, Taco Bell, Subway, and Burger King. Cross to the South East corner and walk two blocks East. At Fraser Avenue turn right Lamport stadium is right there. Enter through one of the blue double doors.

1. From the Allen take the Allen to Sheppard. Turn on to Sheppard going West. Drive on Sheppard for a few minutes, the whole time on you left you will be seeing the downsview park (big empty space!). The hangar is actually within downsview park.There will be signs for the entrance to downsview park. on your left, it's a real intersection--with lights and everything, go in. Go to "Now It Gets Tricky" .

2. From Keele Street. At Sheppard turn onto it going the east. The first intersection with lights should be the the entrance to Downsview Park - enter. Go to "Now It Gets Tricky"

NOW IT GETS TRICKY. Drive into the park, you will immediately come to a 4-way stop. Do not go straight! Turn left at the 4-way stop. Drive over the railway tracks and keep going straight. Shortly after the tracks, the road ends - it turns essentially into a parking lot. Turn right after what appears to be the last building along that road. The Hangar is right there. Big hint: it looks like a hangar! Tall, sprawling, with lots of windows. It can fit a bunch of airplanes inside! The entrance is a little sunken in. Park anywhere.

Take the Highway 401 West from Toronto to exit 278. Keep right onto HWY-8 Kitchener-Waterloo. Continue (Northwest) on HWY 8 past Sportsworld Drive, past Weber Street East to HWY 7 North [HWY-85]. Bear RIGHT (North) onto HWY-7 Guelph / HWY-85 to Waterloo. Continue (North) on HWY-7 Guelph, HWY 85 to Waterloo past Ottawa Street North, Victoria Street [HWY 7 to Guelph] and Wellington Street Ramps. This is now HWY 85 to Waterloo. Continue (North) on HWY-85 past Bridgeport Road, to University Avenue East. Bear RIGHT onto University Avenue East. Continue on University Avenue East crossing over Bridge Street, Woolwich Street, Woolwich Place, Woolwich Street N. Turn RIGHT (Northeast) and follow the signs for parking

Going east on the 401 highway, take the Markham Road exit going south. Immediately change 4 lanes so that you are in the left turn lane at the lights. Turn left onto Progress Avenue. Turn right into Centennial College. Park in the furthest parking lot as the gym is the last building. It is the "DEL Gym".

From the 427 highway, take the Finch Avenue exit going east. Continue east for 2 relatively long blocks. Turn right onto Humber College Blvd. After 2 more small blocks turn right into the first parking lot. The gym is in building "A".

There is no parking fee on weekdays after 5pm and on weekends.

Wallace Emmerson Community Centre (indoor gym)

Community Centre is right next to the shopping plaza on the South-West corner of Dupont and Dufferin.

TTC: From Dufferin subway station, take the Dufferin 29 bus north. Make sure you have a transfer! Get off at Dupont. You will have just passed the community centre on the left. Cross west at the intersection. Walk 2 mintues south to Wallace C.C.

Since the Dufferin bus runs all the way to Steeles, you can transfer onto it from the north. From this direction, you also get off at Dupont.

Driving: The entrance to the plaza parking lot is just off of Dupont. Park as far south as you can to be close to the Community Centre.

If taking the Gardiner, exit at Dunn (if coming from the east) or at Jameson (if coming from the west). Go north onto King Street and turn right (west). When you reach Dufferin, turn left (north). Dufferin does a little detour at Queen. Turn right at Queen and then at the next set of lights turn left. Follow the road which will turn left and then right. You are now back on Dufferin going north. Stay on Dufferin until Dupont. Turn left and then left again into the parking lot. The trip from the Gardiner to Wallace is about 15 minutes.

If you are coming from the north, you will have to take city streets. Mapquest is a good web resource for finding directions.

TTC from the Bloor subway line: From Dufferin subways station, take the Dufferin 29 bus south. Make sure you have a transfer to get on! Get off at Dundas - there is a Hakim Optical at that intersection. Cross the intersection south. Walk one block west to Sheridan Avenue. Turn left and walk about 2 blocks south on Sheridan to McCormick.

TTC from the east west: From the Dundas 505 streetcar get off at Sheridan. It's one stop west of Dufferin, one stop west of Brock. Walk south on Sheridan about 2 blocks to McCormick.

Driving: Sheridan is one block west of Dufferin Street and two blocks south of Dundas. It is a one-way street going south.

If you are driving from the south, it might be best to drive on Brock Avenue northbound and then turn right onto Marshall Street (one-way going east) and then right again onto Sheridan. There is street parking.

On Keele, one block north of Bloor. Doors to enter are on the north side of the building (up small flight of stairs, keep looking, you'll find it). We'll be in the downstairs gym.

TTC: From Keele subway station. Walk north on Keele. It's about 3 minutes (one big block). It is on your left (west side).

Driving: At Keele and Bloor, go north on Keele one block. Turn left on Glenlake Avenue (the first set of lights). The first driveway on the left has parking for the Keele Community Centre.

Sunnybrook Park - Toronto (outdoor grass)

From Markham/Scarborough, take Don Valley Parkway going South. Take Eglinton West Exit. Take right turn at Leslie. As soon as you turn, please look on your left. You will see a sign for Sunnybrook Park. Turn left from Leslie to go into this entrance for the Sunnybrook Park. Follow the directions to Sunnybrook Park once inside the park through a winding road always staying on the right hand side of the road. There is about 5 minutes drive inside the Park before you will see the field hockey fields on your right hand side after you have gone past the police station and the horse stables. There is parking just before the park on the left or if you drive past the park there is parking there.

The park is a 15 minute walk from the Leslie 51, Eglinton East 34, and Lawrence East 54 TTC bus stops.

Enter the park from Eglinton Avenue West. At the bottom of a small hill turn right where there will be parking.

Travel time from Markham/Scarborough: at least 1 hour and 30 minutes

From Markham/Scarborough, take 401 West. Take 403 into Queen Elizabeth Way. Once you reach Oakville, take Dorval Road South Exit. Once you reach Lakeshore Road, take a right turn. After travelling a few blocks on Lakeshore Road, you will see the sign on your left for entrance into the "Appleby College". Be careful, the sign is very small. Once inside the college, drive all the way to the back (south) towards the lake until you see the parking lot for the turf field. Park your car in the parking lot and go through the college residences gate to the turf grounds.

Travel time from Markham/Scarborough: at least 2 hours

From Toronto, take 401 West. From 401 take Hwy 8 West (exit 278) to Kitchener-Waterloo. Go down through River Valley to the other side. After Hwy 8 goes down below subway, take 1st ramp which is Hwy 7 East. Get into the 4 lane expressway & take Ring road expressway. Ring road expressway becomes Hwy 86 to Waterloo. Look for University Avenue. Take 2nd University avenue exit. Take left on 8th light called Albert Street. Turn right on the first road called Seagram Drive. On Seagram (in between houses) turn immediately to the left into the University Stadium.
